(1967) Hunter S Thompson defends his book ‘Hells Angels’ against Clifford Skip Workman, an irate Hells Angels member. When talking about how Thompson was jumped by the Hells Angels, Cliff stated:
“Junkie George was beating his old lady, and his dog bites him. If a guy wants to beat his wife and his dog bites him, that’s between the three of them. Here comes the peacemaker, he doesn’t have a patch on, he isn’t in the club, and you walked up to him and you said, ‘Only a punk beats his wife and dog.’”
